Oor Hom
I'm the proud and caring father of a bright and healthy 12-year old boy with whom I share life experiences, including outdoor adventures in exotic places, from Desert to near-Arctic regions, hiking, camping, fishing, surfing, snorkeling, etc.
I was supposed to achieve academic "success", but somehow I always made friends with the naughty yet more interesting kids at school. I ended up studying various fields from Electronic Engineering and Computers through some Philosophy and Psychology to a major in Spanish and Geography. In the process I built a fairly successful career that covers the bills. I still seek friendships outside of the corporate world though: artists, musicians, thinkers...
I've been told that I'm patient and understanding, though I'm not too sure about that as I don't suffer fools gladly. People say I'm honest and consistent - the same person in front of everyone - I don't assume a different personality to make myself more like-able to others.
I don't believe in any supernatural deity - we have only one life, and I want to experience our crazy world and many varying sides of life without fear of punishment or expectation of reward.
I'm not into organized sports. I used to run - did a few marathons - but found it boring after a while and gave it up for dancing. Authentic Argentinian tango is a keen interest of mine and I travel to dance, learn and DJ at milongas all over Europe, with the odd trip to Buenos Aires when time and money allow.
I dream of building my eco-friendly cottage by the sea where I can live sustainably among my milkwood trees with a veggie garden and some chickens (maybe Siberian huskies).
But first I want to travel the world by bicycle... and if I can share the experience with a partner it would add meaningful memories.

Sy Ideale Pasmaat
My ideal woman has experienced some of what life dishes up, and managed to come out of it intact and with a deeper wisdom. She knows that the world isn't binary - doesn't judge too easily - understands that some setbacks are temporary and that things do get better eventually.
Optimistic, curious and healthy. She's intelligent and attractive. But it's not the looks that count as much as the connection: Zen walking meditation, relaxed with eyes closed, in close embrace... I love a woman who can walk smoothly in rhythm. George Bernard Shaw learned to dance tango at age 68, and said it was the best thing he ever learnt. I understand why.
I love an open and inquiring mind - someone who is curious about the world and keen to explore. Someone who likes to talk about the thought-provoking book she's just read, or the movie she watched yesterday and can't get out of her mind. Someone who engages with life, participating rather than spectating. Someone who's perhaps a bit eccentric, slightly mad (in the nicest possible way). Someone who can appreciate the dry humor of Gary Larson as well as the charm of Peanuts or Calvin & Hobbes. Who might dare to apply for a loan at the ministry of silly walks and prefers Trigger Happy TV over Leon Schuster.
